DESIGN TIPS

Architectural and Interior projects go hand in hand. Architecture has usually been defined as the art of building. It is an art, made for people residing. The Architect today is both an artist and an Engineer, who must combine knowledge of design and construction and of the available resources in labour techniques and materials to produce a harmonious and functional work. Today the Architect plans both the aesthetics and the construction of his building in a highly conscious manner, often deliberately attempting to communicate artistic concepts and abstract ideas through inner spaces and structure itself. It is the demanding clients who care about architecture and space planning.
Interior design is more than a decoration. It is also among other things a concern for functions. Today interior designer works beyond specifying furnishings, finishing and indulges with the space planning combined with the knowledge & skill of modern engineering services. Inner space is a challenge & opportunity to accomplished interior designer to explore every variable aspect of size, shape, scale, colour, texture and give to inner space a character of its own. It is the demanding clients who care about interior & space planning and seek the services of Qadiriya Enterprises INTERIOR DESIGNING SOLUTIONS. Interior design works on hotels, schools, hospitals and private residences. It shapes the experience of interior space. It is a practice concerned with anything that is found inside a space – walls, doors, windows, textures, light, furnishings and furniture. All of these elements are used to develop the most functional space for a building’s users. It draws on aspects of environmental psychology, architecture, product design and furniture design in addition to traditional decoration. It involves manipulating the architectural integrity of the interior space. On the other hand interior decoration deals with decorating a room so that it is attractive, easy to use, and functions well with the existing architecture. It simply applies decorating principles to beautify a space.

The Design Process

  • Taking a brief: Determining the client’s objectives, timescale and budget.
  • Creating working drawings / detailed survey drawings (Hand sketches / CAD)
  • Concepts presentation for the client for approval
  • Floor plans and then the detailed specifications of all alterations, finishes and furnishings

Tips for Choosing a Color Scheme

By choosing the right color scheme you can create a warm, inviting, and a pulled together feeling. One simple way of accomplishing this is to Pick a Pattern. Look over your Furniture, area rugs and art work, one of these pieces are bound to have a pattern that you love. When you have a pattern you like, choose three colors from that pattern.( A light color, a medium tone, and a darker color). Now use the light color for your background color(your walls). If this color is still a bit dark or to vivid, knock it down by adding white or grey. Use this same color for your floors, but it is more pleasing if you have a darker variation on the floor. This will help ground the room for you. When applying the medium tone, use it on your largest pieces of furniture, and window treatments. This will look especially nice if you have a bit of your wall and floor colors mixed in with them. As for the darker tone, use this color on your accessories, and smaller pieces of furniture. Be sure to distribute this color evenly through out the room.

Tips for Decorating a Small Space

  • Sometimes large things (like a large mirror) can make a room look and feel larger. Position a large mirror opposite the entry way    to reflect the    rest of the home. This will create an illusion of more space
  • Avoid use over sized furniture, get items that are scale to the area
  • Use small and simple furniture items
  • Light colored walls and one bold accent wall makes an area to feel bigger than actual

Tips to Add Light to a Dark Room

Sometimes we are not able to make any permanent lighting changes or we just don’t want to have to pay to have new wiring run, here are some tips which could be useful are…

  • Hanging lamps to the ceiling
  • Highlight corners or items you want to show off. Always use soft light bulbs for highlighting

Tips while Hanging a Picture

No doubt, generally few nails and a hammer serve the purpose in a few minutes. But it’s not correct all the time. Here are some tips while working with…

  • Kind of wall we are working with : Simple picture hooks or nails suits for an ordinary wall, but if the wall is made out of a harder substance we   need to use concrete screws
  • Weight of the picture : We will need to use anchors to make sure the picture is stable and securely fastened to the wall if it is large and heavy
  • Adjust eye level : The center of the picture should be even with eye level
